I am getting errors when importing DWG or DXF drawings using the PROKON Drawing Enginer. Is there an alternative method that I can use?
When you imort a DWG or DXF drawing, Padds defaults to using the PROKON DWG Engine. This utility uses a third-party component that suppport many advanced AutoCAD features. In some cases, however, the import process fails. You can try the following method to work around the problem:
- In AutoCAD (or other CAD program), save the drawing in DXF format.
- In Padds, use the Read DX / DWG / CEX command on the File menu as before, but with one difference...
- When the Open dialogue box displays, change the Files of type setting to "DXF files directly", and then open the drawing.
The method described above sometimes works better because AutoCADbreaks the drawing down to more basic components (when saving as a DXF file) that are have better compatibility with the direct import function in Padds.
