When an attempt is made to design certain profiles, the Design output shows that the Profile is not supported. The affected profiles are usually Angles, Cold-formed channels and custom sections. An example of this is shown in Figure 1:
The program refers to a specified design code to determine if the profile can be designed. If a method is given in the selected code for a specific profile, the program will do the necessary design calculations. A reference will also be given to the relevant clause from the code (as shown in Figure 2).
To find out which profiles are supported by the selected code, click on the Select from preferred sections option and click the (F5) Profile button (on the Input Tab). A window will show the possible profiles that can be designed with the selected design code (Figure 3).
