This article relates to using a local license; the licensing scheme used in PROKON ver. 2.6 and earlier. PROKON ver. 3.0 introduces a new licensing option – License Manager – that performs automatic license activation. With License Manager, there is no need for manual activation or deactivation. You can install PROKON anywhere and simply log in to use your license. For more information, please see the PROKON Web Help.
When using the Direct Internet method of activation, it may fail with under certain conditions with an error "20 sec timeout error. Try again later."
The error occurs when PROKON is unable to establish an Internet connection with the PROKON License Server. Possible causes include:
- The computer does not have a working Internet connection.
- A firewall or proxy server is blocking PROKON from accessing the Internet.
If you are unable to resolve the above, consider using one of the alternative methods of activation:
- Web Browser: Will open the PROKON website your web browser. In doing so, a Report Code is sent to the PROKON License Server. A Return Code will be displayed that you should enter to activate your license.
- Email: Will use your default email program to send a Report Code to the PROKON License Server. You should receive an email reply within a minute or two with the Report Code you should enter to activate your license.
